Explain the key elements of the text, or the key facts communicated:
There is a girl she is very curious and she had a very normal life around the victorian era until one day she and her little brother Howard with their family moved to a mysterious island a few days later her father was murdered in his will he left her a most peculiar tree but someone else is also after the tree can she protect her family hand her father’s tree from this mysterious killer?
Who were the main characters? Did you like or dislike them? Why?
The main characters are faith and her friend/companion/accomplice/partner I like faith though I think that she is too quick to jump to conclusions and she needs to think things through first before she follows through on her plans one example is that once she managed to ignite the tree when she only meant to singe a little of the vines
How did the characters respond to events and each other in each text?
There was one part where faiths uncle (miles)acts very aggressively and grabs faiths throat and tries to force the knowledge of her father papers out of her until faith mum bravely steps in and pokes him in the back with a fire poker and he leaves with his head hanging and his hand on his broken suit.
What was similar or different in key aspects of the plot, setting and language of the text, compared to other texts?
Support your explanation with at least two specific details from the text.
One of the differences is that in the book by Daren Shan Cuer Du Freak the book is written in second person where the Lie Tree I written in thirst person.
One of the similarities is that both Daren Shan and Frances Harding are both horror writers.
You could give your reaction to the author’s perspective, the events that occurred or the things you learned. To get thinking about the author’s attitude, develop some which you think the author might agree or disagree with.
the author has decided to make her father die because he does not want the story to be dramatic and for it not to be a and everyone leaves unharmed happily ever after story he wants it to make your brain work on the story along with your imagination.
